About me
Karie is an Associate Professor and Program Director of Physical Education & Health program at Montana State University. Karie has been involved in teaching for 31 years, 18 years was at the K-12 level, and 13 years in higher education. She earned her PhD at the University of South Carolina and is now teaching at Montana State University, GO ‘CATS!
The first state organization Karie was a member of was SHAPE Arizona. She then became a member of the California Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (CAHPERD). While being a member or the Rhode Island Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (RIAHPERD) she served as the Vice President for Physical Education, and the Future Professionals faculty representative. While in South Carolina, she was a member of South Carolina Alliance of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (SCAHPERD) and served as the Future Professionals faculty representative. She has helped organized State Conferences in Rhode Island, South Carolina and Montana. She has served as SHAPE Montana President twice.
If Karie isn’t in the classroom, you can find her on the rugby pitch (playing or coaching), hiking some mountain somewhere or on a plane traveling, getting ready to get a stamp in her passport!
