About me
William Potter is a San Francisco native and currently teaches physical education at Serendipity School in Belmont, California. William has been teaching Physical Education since 2002 and has been an OPEN National Trainer since 2018. In 2019 William was honored as the CAHPERD Elementary Teacher of the Year, and was also recognized as the SHAPE America National Elementary Teacher of the Year in 2020. As a leader, William has served as the Director of the Elementary Physical Education Workshop (2013), CAHPERD President (2022), and as a member of the SHAPE America Board (2023-2026). William believes passionately in engaging students and their families in movement-rich, inclusive Physical Education that empowers every child to move confidently, learn dynamically and embrace a lifelong love of activity.
